"Persistence of Memory" by Sylvia de Swaan
Visiting Instructor of Art Sylvia de Swaan is among the invited artists exhibiting photographs in the Cazenovia College Art Gallery Exhibition, Signs of Life, which opens on Thursday, Sept. 6. An artist's lecture and reception will be held on Sept. 6 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibition, lecture and reception are free and open to the public. The show will close on Sept. 27.

De Swaan's image "Persistence of Memory," which accompanies this story, is the featured image on the gallery's Web site and invitation to the show. The photograph is part of de Swaan's Sub-version series. Bob Gates, Cara Fuller, John Mannion and William Earle Williams are the other artists participating in the exhibition.

Gallery hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 1 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m.; Fridays, 1 - 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 2 - 6 p.m. It is located on the corner of Sullivan and Seminary Streets in Cazenovia.
