The Hamilton College Department of Theatre will present Marlane Meyer's Etta Jenks as its fall theatre production. Performances are Thursday - Saturday, Nov. 8-10 and Wednesday – Saturday, Nov. 14-17 at 8 p.m., and a matinee on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m., all in Minor Theater. The performance is under the direction of Professor Carole Bellini-Sharp, with lighting design by Bill Burd, costume design by Amy Svoboda and set design by John Pollard. This play contains adult content and is not suitable for children under 16.

According to Dramatists Play Serivce, Inc., "Language and metaphor play a large part in bringing to life the darkly comic story of Etta Jenks, a cautionary tale of a young woman's journey to Hollywood. Etta arrives in Tinseltown like millions before her with the dream of becoming a star, but when her dream fails to materialize she takes a job in the pornography industry. When she decides to pursue her legitimate career she realizes that her success in pornography has destroyed her chances of serious film work. More than a morality tale where salvation lurks at the edge of a dark resolution, Etta Jenks, with a generous dose of humor and irony, provides a 'how to' guide for ruining your life and in the process provides answers to life's most important question."

Tickets for Etta Jenks are $5 general admission, $3 students and senior citizens, and free admission for the Saturday matinee. All seating is general admission. Reservations are suggested, as seating is limited. For reservations or more information, call Shannon Stanfield in the Department of Theatre and Dance at (315) 859-4057.
