Derek Jones, the Irma M. and Robert D. Morris Professor of Economics, is the editor of the book New Economy Handbook, published by Elsevier Academic Press. The book is a collection of original essays on the economy after the 1990s information technology boom, with an introduction by Jones.  The book is intended to serve as a reference for business schools, economics departments, and other finance and business professionals, and covers a wide range of topics, including product markets and industrial organization, financial and labor markets, entrepreneurship, economic policy and institutional frameworks.

In addition, Jones has contributed a chapter called "Managerial Discretion, Business Strategy and the Quality of Jobs: Evidence from Medium-Sized Manufacturing Establishments in Central New York" to a new book called Low Wage America: How Employers are Reshaping Opportunity in the Workplace. The book is published by Russell Sage Foundation Publications.
