Associate Professor of Philosophy Katheryn Doran was the guest editor of the fall issue of the APA Newsletter on Teaching Philosophy. The issue is a special edition on teaching philosophy in non-traditional settings.
The issue includes an article by Doran titled “De Beauvoir in the Prison Yard.” In it, she chronicles her changing views about both philosophy and philosophical pedagogy through her many years running a philosophy book group in a medium security men’s prison.
