Students from Economics 346, Monetary Policy, attended a seminar at the New York Federal Reserve Bank on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Students heard presentations by Federal Reserve officials on current economic conditions, the economics of the Federal Reserve's new lending facilities, the subprime crisis and the labor market.

Later in the semester, the class will participate in the Fed Challenge, a national competition in which the students make and justify a recommendation for policymakers to Fed economists and finance professionals.
