A book review by Assistant Professor of History John Eldevik has been published by The Medieval Review, a leading online, open-source repository of scholarly reviews of new literature in medieval studies.
Eldevik reviewed the 2013 monograph by Duke University historian Jehangir Malegam, The Sleep of Behemoth: Disputing Peace and Violence in Medieval Europe, 1000-1200, which examines concepts of peace and community in medieval monastic theology and the impact of these discourses on key religious and political debates in the eleventh and twelfth centuries.
