The Emerson Gallery Student Art Invitational 2011 features artwork from 16 students who recently completed courses in the visual arts at Hamilton College and celebrates their creativity. The exhibition includes photography, video, sculpture, drawing, painting and mixed media ranging from introductory to advanced academic levels. The exhibition opens on Thursday, June 2, and will close Tuesday, Aug. 30, with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

 

The exhibiting student artists are Shawon Akanda ’12 (Bronx, N.Y.), Barsha Baral ’13 (Ridgewood, N.Y.), Lisa Buch ’11 (Westborough, Mass.), Katie He ’11 (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Alyssa Hopper ’13 (Laguna Beach, Calif.), Emi Katsuta ’11 (Rye, N.Y.), Erica Kowsz ’11 (Hebron, Conn.), Grace Lee ’13 (Rancho Palos Verde, Calif.), Lin Lin ’13 (Manhattan, N.Y.), Julio R. Monterroso ’11 (Port Chester, N.Y.), Deanna Perez ’14 (Lynbrook, N.Y.), John D. Powell ’12 (Clinton, N.Y.), Perry Ryan ’12 (Westmount, Quebec, Canada), Benjamin Salzman ’13 (Clinton, N.Y.), Suman Sarker ’11 (Bronx, N.Y.), and Sarah Song ’13 (Scarsdale, N.Y.).
