Second Nature

Environmental Studies students collaborated with Visiting Assistant Professor of History Peter Simons to publish a volume on the history of Hamilton’s natural environment. Sabrina Boutselis ’19, Jack Hay ’19, Noelle Connors ’19, Emma Raynor ’18, Leigh Preston ’18, Emma Morgan ’18, Elise LePage ’18, Chloe Keating ’18 and Laura Kwasnoski ’18 contributed to the work.

Digging through the archives, consulting with faculty and staff, and a series of site visits allowed students to uncover the human histories of natural places such as the Kirkland Glen as well as environmental histories of the campus landmarks such as Burke Library.

Second Nature is available in print and through Hamilton Digital Commons.
