Eric Kuhn ’09 hosted a successful party to kick off the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner weekend. For the fifth annual “Bytes and Bylines” mixer, Kuhn and his co-hosts hosted the Irish-infused party at the ambassador of Ireland’s residence in Washington, D.C.
Kuhn is an American media executive who has launched social media platforms for CNN, CBS News, and the NBA. He has served as the first head of social media for United Talent Agency and is chief marketing officer for Layer3 TV in Denver.

The “Bytes and Bylines” party is advertised as a gathering of technology, media and political leaders. Those at the mixer enjoyed a jazz band on an outdoor stone patio while offered Guinness and a selection of Irish whiskey. Guests traded stories about the Facebook data scandal, Zuckerberg’s recent hearings on Capitol Hill, and ways in which other tech companies such as Twitter and Google are addressing privacy concerns.
The event was one of the first Correspondents’ Association-related soirees to give money to journalism causes. This year Kuhn and “Bytes and Bylines” made a donation to the WHCA journalism scholarship fund.
