Hamilton College opens the faculty concert series on Friday, Sept. 9 with the Fall Faculty Concert at 8 p.m. at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
Hamilton College faculty artists will perform solo and ensemble pieces that range from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries. This concert is an opportunity for Hamilton College's music faculty to showcase their talents. The recital will begin with solo works and end with a small ensemble. Featured on the program are Colleen Roberts Pellman, piano; Lauralyn Kolb, soprano; Ursula Kwasnicka, harp; Anita Firman, soprano, Sar-Shalom Strong, piano; Lynn Hileman, bassoon; John Raschella, trumpet; Monk Rowe, alto saxophone; and Heather Buchman conducting.
Highlights of the program are Haydn's Sonata in E flat Major, performed by Colleen Roberts Pellman, piano; "Fair Robin I Love" from Tartuffe, performed by Lauralyn Kolb, soprano, and accompanied by Sar Shalom Strong, piano; and Michael Torke's Music on the Floor, conducted by Heather Buchman. Additional pieces for piano, saxophone, voice, trumpet and harp will also be performed.
