The Office of the Dean of the Faculty and the Academic Career Network (ACN) hosted a Publishing Day in Bristol Center on Saturday, April 1. The event included a morning panel presentation with participants from three major university presses (Cornell, Syracuse, and Yale) and the Susan Rabiner Literary Agency.
Faculty from Hamilton, Colgate University and Skidmore College attended the event. Many had individual consultations with the publishing representatives during the afternoon. According to Associate Dean of the Faculty Kirk Pillow, who organized the event along with ACN, Publishing Day "was an opportunity for faculty to learn more about the current state of academic book publishing, the process of working with a press, and for faculty to make a personal connection with particular publishers."
