Christina Matulaitis '09 scored a goal and Courtney DeMaria '10 made 13 saves, but visiting Hamilton College lost 2-1 against Hartwick College in a non-league game on Sept. 18.

Matulaitis scored her third goal this year on an assist from Kristina Zambelli '11 just 4:29 into the second half. Zambelli took a shot that was saved by the goalie and the rebound went to Matulaitis, who found the back of the cage. The goal tied the score at 1-1 and the teams remained in a deadlock until Hartwick (4-3 overall) tallied the game-winner with 6:34 left.

DeMaria has made 29 saves for Hamilton (2-3) in the last two games. Hartwick held a commanding 22-3 advantage in shots, including 17-2 in the second half. The Hawks were awarded nine penalty corners to the Continentals' three.

Hamilton tries to get back in the win column on Friday, Sept. 21, when it hosts the University of Rochester for a Liberty League game at 4 p.m. Both teams will play their first league games this weekend.
