Dinesh D'Souza
Dinesh D'Souza, Robert and Karen Rishwain Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, will speak on Wednesday, April 20, at 8 p.m. in the Hamilton Chapel. His topic is titled "What's so great about America." This event is free and open to the public.
 
 D'Souza served as senior White House domestic policy analyst during the Reagan administration. The author of  New York Times bestsellers Illiberal Education (1991) and What's So Great About America (2002), D'Souza also wrote The Virtue of Prosperity: Finding Values in an Age of Techno Affluence (2000) and Ronald Reagan: How an Ordinary Man Became an Extraordinary Leader (1997). His writing has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Forbes, Harper's and Atlantic Monthly. D'Souza has been a featured guest on numerous programs, including the Today Show, Nightline, O'Reilly Factor, Good Morning America, and The Dennis Miller Show. His areas of research include the economy and society, civil rights and affirmative action, cultural issues and politics, and higher education.
 
The Levitt Center Speaker Series brings the experiences of policy analysts, policy makers and policy administrators to campus.  "The U.S. Budget:  Power, Politics and Priorities" is the 2004-2005 Speaker Series theme. Alan G. Hevesi, New York State Comptroller, will speak on April 27 at 7:30 in the Fillius Events Barn.
