Professor of Philosophy Todd Franklin delivered an invited lecture on April 10 at The Center of East Asian and Comparative Philosophy in Hong Kong.
In “The Uses and Disadvantages of Music for Life,” Franklin pulled together “existential elements of Nietzschean thought and key ethical aspects of Confucian thought to create a framework for highlighting the significance of music as illustrated in relation to the lives and communities of African Americans.”
Franklin also led a professional development workshop for post-graduate fellows and junior faculty who focus on comparative philosophy.
