Nancy Rabinowitz has Role in “The Gentlest Work”
Professor of Comparative Literature and Creative Writing Emerita Nancy Sorkin Rabinowitz recently took part in “The Gentlest Work,” a new digital performance installation from By Jove Theater Company. The piece was released virtually on June 7 and is available until June 20.
“The Gentlest Work” is partially based on Rabinowitz’s work on queer elements in the tragedies surrounding the myth of the House of Atreus. The installation is made up of dozens of videos, images, audio clips, and fragments of text that embrace the complex, often contradictory myths underpinning the narrative.
Rabinowitz continued to work with the group as dramaturg and classical consultant. She has a small part in the resulting piece, as well photographs, including one of the Root Glen stream.
