Assistant Professor of Mathematics Courtney Gibbons was the co-organizer of a special session at the Fall Eastern Sectional Meeting of the American Mathematical Society (AMS). The annual meeting, held Nov. 14-15, was hosted by Rutgers University.
Gibbons worked with Denise A. Rangel Tracy of Syracuse University on the session titled “Special Session on Aspects of Resolutions and Syzygies in Commutative Algebra.” The program brought together 14 speakers, ranging from graduate students to established research mathematicians, all of whom work in commutative algebra or algebraic geometry and use tools from homological algebra.
