Barbara Gold, Edward North Professor of Classics, published a book titled Roman Literature, Gender and Reception: Domina Illustris.

Gold co-edited the book with Donald Lateiner of Ohio Wesleyan University and Judith Perkins of the University of Saint Joseph. It is part of the Monographs in Classical Studies series from Routledge Press.

According to the publisher’s website, the book contains “19 essays collectively honoring the feminist Classical scholar Judith Hallett” with chapters that “range from the late Republic to the late Empire to the present.”

 

Gold also published an article in the volume titled “‘And I Became a Man’: Gender Fluidity and Closure in Perpetua’s Prison Narrative.”
