Barbara Gold, the Edward North Professor of Classics, presented a paper at the seventh triennial Feminism and Classics conference in Seattle on May 20. “Visions: Feminism and Classics 7” was hosted by the Classics Department at the University of Washington and sponsored by the Simpson Center for the Humanities and the Loeb Classical Library Foundation.

Gold’s paper was titled “Were Female Martyrs Transgendered? Perpetua Between Genders” and was part of a panel on “Shifting Views/Multiple Lenses.”

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
