Associate Professor of Art History Stephen J. Goldberg and Michael Thomas Viveiros '08 presented the results of their collaborative work, supported by an 2008 Emerson Summer Research Grant, at the 2008 Annual Conference of ASIANetwork hosted by Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, on March 16. On a panel titled "Using Research to Enable More Effective Pedagogy in Teaching Language and Culture," they presented and discussed the production of six digital video podcasts designed to introduce fundamental aspects of Chinese culture and society through images of visual art and the built and natural environments. These podcasts are intended to be used for instructing high school teachers faced with developing course materials in the globalizing of their curriculum. They also can be used with students in the undergraduate curriculum.
