Prints by three artists associated with Hamilton College, Professor of Art Bruce Muirhead, Jake Muirhead '86, and Dan Wittenberg '07, have been selected for the juried Washington Printmakers National Small Works 2007 Exhibition. Of the nearly 500 images submitted, juror Greg Jecmen, associate curator of old prints at the National Gallery of Art, selected 27 works.  The exhibition runs from July 31 to August 26.
 
Among the 27 prints selected, the following etchings were chosen from the Hamilton artists:
Woman Fixing Her Hair "Woman Fixing Her Hair," an etching and aquatint by Bruce Muirhead who has taught printmaking at Hamilton College since 1972.
   
Glass Factory Road
"Glass Factory Road," an etching and aquatint by Jake Muirhead, who was an art major at Hamilton and who earned an MFA this year in printmaking from George Mason University.
   
Glare
"Glare," a solaretching by Dan Wittenberg who graduated this year as an art major and who did his senior project in printmaking.
   
The opening reception will be held on Friday, August 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Washington Printmakers Gallery, 1732 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C.
