Sam Bono had two hits, including a triple, and knocked in three runs as the Hamilton College baseball team opened their season with an 11-5 win over Vassar College in Cocoa Beach, FL.

Brain Guastella added three hits which included two doubles, and had 2 RBIs. Sean Fay added 2 hits and 2 RBIs as the Continentals opened up a 5-0 first inning lead en route to the win.

Tim Fazio (1-0) earned the win in relief as he pitched three innings, gave up no runs and three hits.

In their second games, Hamilton got an outstanding performance from freshman pitcher Andy Berman, who went five innings, gave up only one hit, struck out a batter and did not allow a run in the Continentals 3-1 win over Wheaton College. Steve Guillette, another freshman, pitched the final two innings for the save.

Offensively, Hamilton was led by Matt Klumpp, who had a 2-run RBI single in the fifth inning to give the Continentals a 3-0 lead. Mike Estreicher added a run-scoring single.

Hamilton (2-0) will face SUNY-Brockport next.
