Based on the classic tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont and inspired by Jean Cocteau’s magical film, the Hamilton College Theatre Department’s production of Beauty and the Beast offers a modern interpretation of this enduring tale of love and virtue.  Under the direction of Professor of Theatre Carole Bellini-Sharp and guest director Matthew Woods ’88 Beauty and the Beast takes us on a breathtaking journey into the bewitching splendor of the Beast’s palace, a house of dreams and secret desires.  Designers Andrew Holland, David Stoughton, Amy Petta and Nate Goebel ’15 create the play’s dream world and vision.

Beauty and the Beast features Hamilton students Maria Lazgin Ciercielli ’18, Olivia Melodia ’18, Mackenzie Bettmann ’18, Catherine Macleod Daigle ’17, Kelsey Crane ’17, Ryan Cassidy ’17, Timothy Hartel ’18, Meghan Gehan ’18, Andrew Gibeley ’16, Michael Gagnon ’16, Collin Purcell ’17.
