Hamilton community members participated in the Utica Marsh clean-up on April 25.
A large contingent of Hamilton folks joined the greater Utica community for a clean-up at Utica Marsh on Saturday, April 25. About 150 people showed up on the clear, warm morning and cleaned up large piles of trash and tires. This annual community service event is sponsored by the Utica Marsh Council, a volunteer non-profit organization that promotes environmental education at the Marsh and advises NYS DEC on management of the Marsh. Professor of Biology Ernest Williams is one of the active leaders of the Utica Marsh Council.

Hamilton student participants included Tongxin Lu '11, Amy Rumack '09, Claire Sayler '12, Catie Ferrara '11, Greg Huffaker '09, Alyssa White '11, Cleo Abramian '12, Kristin Forgrave '12, Alex Paridon '09, Carolyn Meyer '10, Olivia Wolfgang-Smith '11, Emma Stewart '09, Louise Roy '10, Kristen Pallen '12 and Philip Lowrey '12.

Hamilton faculty and staff participants included Professor of Biology David Gapp; Professor of Government Phil Klinkner and his daughter Honorine Klinkner; Professor of Biology Ernest Williams; Sharon Williams, director of the Writing Center; and Hillary Joy Pitoniak, greenhouse care technician.
