The Hamilton College Department of Music will present a free concert titled "Vision of Sound" on Saturday, April 5, at 3 p.m. in Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.
New Music for piano, string trio and computer comes to life with SUNY Brockport dancers in a multi-media event. Co-sponsored by Hamilton College, SUNY Brockport, the University of Buffalo and the Syracuse Society for New Music, this special performance presents work by composers Mark Olivieri, Marc Mellits, Bernadette Speech, Ping Jin Corte Lippe and Hamilton's own Professor of Music Samuel Pellman.
The Vision of Sound concert is a collaboration between composers, choreographers, dancers and musicians to produce new choreographic works with live music written by composers primarily within the last five years. The pieces on the concerts all reflect the most current aesthetic sensitivities of the representative composers and choreographers. The dancers and musicians are sincerely committed to the promotion and performance of new work by living composers and choreographers.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the box office at 859-4331 or visit www.visionofsoundconcert.com
