The Hamilton Field Hockey team recently returned from an exciting trip abroad to Seville, Spain, and Lisbon, Portugal. For eight days steeped in Spanish and Portuguese culture, the team explored the cities and cultural artifacts, played competitive field hockey, and spent time volunteering.
While abroad, the Continentals were fortunate to tour Seville during the Feast of Corpus Christi where they witnessed the religious procession move through the narrow streets. They went sea kayaking through caves in Lagos, Portugal, took a riverboat tour of beautiful Lisbon on sailing yachts and took surfing lessons courtesy of The Carcavelos Surf School.
In addition to sightseeing and competitive field hockey, the Continentals hosted two field hockey clinics for children from the APPA and Casa Pia orphanages in Portugal.
The Continentals hit the field at the Jamor Complex Center where they competed against three Portuguese club teams and left with wins against the Portuguese and Lisbon Select Teams. The trip was culturally enriching, competitive and allowed for some fun and team bonding. The team thanks Zag Sports for the wonderful opportunity.
