Hamilton is proud to salute the 22 student members of  Hamilton College Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS). The week of November 10 is National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Week.  This is a week set aside to pay tribute to the many students nationwide who volunteer their time to serve their campus community as EMTs.  If you see any of the members of HCEMS, please let them know how much you appreciate their dedication and the vital service they provide for the entire Hamilton College community.

The following students are current active members of HCEMS: Patrick Cooke, Gill Chapman, Emily Cooper, Sarah Daviau, Ashley Deline, Sarah Entenmann, Jeff Dyer, Ashlyn Field, Elisabeth Krainer, Matt Pabis, Kaitlin Polak, Katie Poulin, Liz Ransom,
Margo Rockwell, Dan Seeger, Kellyn Shoecraft, Alexa Siddon, Gabby Soto, Michael Stahl
Nate Stell, Gabe Tash and Bobby Wysocki.

 HCEMS is a New York State Approved Emergency Medical Service Agency under the medical direction of Dr. David Petrie and the NYS Department of Health Bureau of EMS.
·       All members of HCEMS are New York State certified EMT's
·       Most of the members of HCEMS take the EMT course here on campus during the spring semester of their freshman year
·       The EMT course involves a three-hour lecture twice a week and a four-hour lab every Saturday morning during the entire spring semester.
·       The members of HCEMS volunteer their time
·       Each member of HCEMS averages 30 hours or more a week on call
·       Each member is required to take weekly review quizzes
·       Each member is required to attend review sessions every three weeks
·       HCEMS responds to 80-90 medical emergencies on campus each semester
·       HCEMS provides 24 hour coverage 7 days a week for our campus community during the academic year
