Nearly 150 students will spend part of their Saturday volunteering for Hamilton Action Volunteer Outreach Coalition's (HAVOC) 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day on Jan. 26. Students and other members of the Hamilton community will work at eight non-profit agencies in Utica and also host children from the Neighborhood Center for a visit to the Hamilton campus.
Volunteers will spend the afternoon working at the Loretto Center, Boys and Girls Club, American Red Cross, United Cerebral Palsy, the Children's Museum, Root Farm, Emmaus House and JCTOD. Student volunteers at Loretto will visit with residents, and those staying on campus will bake, make crafts and go sledding with children from the Neighborhood Center. Those visiting other agencies will clean and organize offices, help with paperwork and decorate.
