Kevin A. Herrera ’16 presented a poster titled “Lightning Protection: Past, Present and Future on the Hamilton College Campus” at the 41st Annual Northeastern Storm Conference held March 4-6 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. His work was based on his senior thesis with Professor of Geosciences Cynthia Domack.
The conference was sponsored by the American Meteorological Society, the National Weather Service and Lyndon State College. Participants included personnel from the 202 Weather Flight of the Massachusetts Air National Guard and the National Weather Service, as well as from the broadcast industry, the research community and the private sector.
A geosciences and theatre major, Herrera is the son of Maria Querubin and Jose Herrera of Jackson Heights, and is a graduate of the Hotchkiss School. He is active on campus serving as a resident advisor, Newman Council member, event staff co-manager, and Bias Incident Response Team member. He is also a member of the Tropical Sol Dance Team.
