Associate Director of Physical Plant for Building Services William Huggins received the Outstanding Engineering Professionalism Award, given by the Mohawk Valley Engineers’ Executive Council (MVEEC). The award was presented at a banquet on April 23 at the Roselawn in New York Mills, N.Y.
Huggins has been a successful leader in managing the construction and renovation of many Hamilton facilities including the Kevin and Karen Kennedy Center for the Theater and Studio Arts, the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art and the Sadove Student Center at Emerson Hall.
Through Huggins’ efforts in leading architectural and construction contractors and third party consultants, three of Hamilton’s buildings have achieved Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification. The Kirner-Johnson Building and Sadove Student Center earned Gold Awards and Skenandoa House earned silver.
The MVEEC has awarded this prestigious technical recognition annually since the organization’s inception 65 years ago by local technical and science professionals.
