Curt Confer '02
Performer, installation artist and alumnus Curt Confer '02 will perform "The Length of the Look," an "endurance work" using text, image and sound to speak on themes of sexuality and anxiety, on Friday, Jan. 30, and Saturday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m. in List Art Studio (room 104). Confer creates spaces that are both meditative and unsettling and that reference the space in one's head "where connections between desire and memory circulate in endless patterns of words." Both days' presentations are free and open to the public.

Confer, who majored in theatre and studio art at Hamilton, continued to study performance at New York University, where he received an MFA in 2007. Recent exhibits include Imperfect Measures at the Emma Willard School in Troy, New York; Look Away at the Cynthia Broan Gallery in New York City and Timeline; human speed & technology speed at the Korea Cultural Service in Beijing, China.
