ISRAELI/IRAQI FILM CRITIC TO SPEAK AT HAMILTON

Ella Shohat, film critic and professor of cultural studies and women's studies at the City University of New York, will be at Hamilton College to discuss "Globalization and the Nation: Toward a Multicultural Feminist Critique." The talk will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 4:15 p.m. in Dwight Lounge, Bristol Campus Center.

Shohat is the author of Israeli Cinema: East/West and The Politics of Representation. She co-authored Multiculturalism and the Media, which won the Katherine Kovacs Singer Book Award for "Best Film Book" in 1994. Her work has appeared in numerous feminist, postcolonial and cultural studies journals and anthologies.
