The Huntington Library in Pasadena, Calif., recently hosted “Joycean Cartographers,” a conference to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses.
Austin Briggs, the Hamilton B. Tompkins Professor of English Literature Emeritus, was one of six scholars invited to contribute by presenting video readings and interpret texts from the novel. His virtual offering was devoted to a passage from the chapter titled “Hades.”
