Eckerd College's Phi Beta Kappa chapter is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and to kick off the occasion, the chapter invited Marianne Janack, John Stewart Kennedy Professor of Philosophy and Phi Beta Kappa Romanell Professor of Philosophy for 2017-18, to campus for class visits and a public lecture.
Janack visited a philosophy seminar, in which they discussed her book What We Mean By Experience (Stanford University Press, 2012) and an introductory philosophy class in which they discussed philosophical writing as a genre. She also visited a course on the European novel, where she discussed Descartes's Meditations. Her public lecture was about reading, writing, and pleasure.
