On Thursday, March 19th Summer will launch her book, Erebus, from 6-8pm at 43 East 20th St. #3 NY, NY 10003.


According to amazon, Erebus is a story of time and place told in fractured memories, images, and heartbreaking poetry. This book-length poem follows the November 1979 Air New Zealand plane crash, set out to sightsee the wonders of Antarctica.


Jane Summer, a New York City native, is also the author of Not the Only One: Lesbian and Gay Fiction for Teens (2004) and The Silk Road: A Novel (2000). Furthermore, Summer worked for two decades as an editor of women’s magazines, and her short fiction and poems have been featured in a number of publications including Ploughshares, Oregon East, Porcupine, Spoon River Poetry Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Literal Latte, and Portland Review.

 

Summer ’76 was a Writing major of Kirkland College. She later received an MFA from Goddard College.
