Twenty-one students and three faculty members from the Japanese Program visited Brooklyn Botanic Garden on Saturday, April 29 for the Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival).
They enjoyed cherry trees in full bloom, taiko drums, dance, katana martial arts and folk dance. On the way home, the group stopped at the Mitsuwa in Edgewater, N.J., for a Japanese dinner. Students were able to try their Japanese language skills as they communicated in Japanese with some of the visitors at the garden and the Japanese stores.
