Jenna Bussman-Wise ’02 was recently recognized by Institutional Investor as a rising hedge fund star. Since joining the American International Group (AIG) as vice president in 2012, she has played a pivotal role that has helped AIG grow and succeed.
Institutional Investor's press release described Bussman-Wise as “a key member of the five-person investment team that rebuilt the insurance giant’s internal hedge fund portfolio.”
Bussman-Wise has had a vast amount of hedge fund experience before joining AIG. After graduating, her first job was evaluating hedge fund and private equity risk for Chubb, an insurance company. After that, she performed due diligence on hedge funds at the Channel Capital Group, a broker-dealer company. She then began work for the hedge fund firm Adair Capital as a research analyst. Among many other accomplishments, Bussman-Wise currently serves on the board of the Ms. Foundation for Women and sits on the foundation's investment committee.
At Hamilton, Bussman-Wise was an economics major and was actively involved with athletics as a member of both the women’s rugby and softball teams. She attended the Stern School of Business at New York University where she co-founded the Stern Hedge Fund Association and received her M.B.A. in 2011. Since graduating Hamilton, she has remained actively involved in the community by participating in many different finance-related events for current students through the Career and Life Outcomes Center and the Hamilton Wall Street Association.
