Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics Jesse Weiner gave an invited lecture to Latin students at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Ill., on Feb. 23.
He spoke about the use of transgressive lyrics and hypermasculine presentations of gender to configure relationships between poets, their poetic personae, and their audiences in both Latin poetry and contemporary popular music.
