Rounds of applause filled Commons on May 16 as employees gathered to salute their administrative, staff and M&O colleagues for milestone service anniversaries. Those celebrating the "decade" mark were:

• 30 years: Al Webster, carpenter foreperson

• 20 years: Steve Pullman, science technician; Virginia Dunn, dispatcher/communications assistant; Ginny Davis, serials assistant; Irv Towne, custodian; and Mary O'Neill, academic support coordinator/director, Quantitative Literacy Center

• 10 years: Mary Karen Vellines, senior associate dean of admission; Irene Cornish, director, purchasing and property management; Dick Tantillo, vice president, communications and development; Laurie Russell, assistant director of alumni programs, special events; Janet Turvey, admission office coordinator; Sue Campanie, events coordinator; Debbie Prody, accounts payable assistant; Meredith Harper Bonham, executive assistant to the president and secretary to the board of trustees; Gilles Lauzon, assistant controller; Dave Aversa, master maintenance mechanic; Jean Williams, cataloguing/data base quality control librarian; Joan Clair, music library coordinator; Bob Evans, custodian foreperson; Terry Lapinski, assistant to the vice president, information technology/ITS office coordinator; Stacey Himmelberger, college editor; Don Croft, grounds foreperson; and Tom Bourgeois, master maintenance mechanic.

In addition to those celebrating anniversaries, co-workers bid a fond farewell to seven retirees whose service to Hamilton represents a combined total of more than two centuries. Among those honored during the Service Recognition event were Carole Freeman, academic office assistant; Cecelia Gilbert, staff accountant; Ken Kogut, director of financial aid; Doug Rockwell, automotive mechanic; and Ray Savicki, automotive mechanic foreperson. Also retiring this year were Clint Bassett, carpenter; and Dan O'Leary, vice president, investments and treasurer.
