John L. Murad, Jr. ’80 is Upstate New York Super Lawyer 2014
John L. Murad, Jr. ’80, has been selected as an Upstate New York Super Lawyer for 2014. Mr. Murad is a partner in the Litigation Practice of the Syracuse, NY-based law firm of Hancock Estabrook, LLP, which is currently celebrating its 125th Anniversary. He has successfully tried cases in State and Federal Court for more than 25 years, obtaining jury verdicts in favor of healthcare institutions and practitioners, product manufacturers, employers, petroleum distributors, and municipalities. Mr. Murad has developed a unique expertise in the representation of dental practitioners, including oral surgeons, orthodontists and dentists. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement and is limited to 5% of the lawyers in the State.
Professionally, John is a fellow at the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the Foundation of Defense and Corporation Counsel as well as the International Association of Defense Counsel.
In the community, John is a Trustee at the State University of New York (SUNY), the Director of Upstate Medical University Foundation Board and the Onondaga Community College Fund Board. He has also served as the Past Director of the Onondaga County Historical Association as well as the Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross Onondaga Oswego Chapter.
While at Hamilton, John was a member of Chi Psi fraternity and received his Bachelor of Arts in Government and History. He followed his Hamilton career with an education at Georgetown University where he became a Juris Doctor in 1983.
