Clubs and orgs, sports teams, vacation spots, pet preferences. Students’ laptop stickers can serve as personal ads that provide insight into their personalities and likes.
Student writer Catherine Vogt ’24 and digital media intern Jasper DeWitt ’27 popped into dining halls and study spots to chat with students about why they chose the stickers adorning their laptops.

“I have one from this sustainability magazine that I helped with in high school, one from WHCL, one from a jewelry company, kind of all random. My favorite is this one I got in New York with one of my best friends [the New York sticker].” - Sarah White ’26
Greg Parizhsky ’26
“I think the sticker that means the most to me is this one [cassette]. I was a Jan and my professor gave that to me before I left. It says UK grime freestyle back to back and that means a lot to me. This sticker [Super Rare] is my friend’s brand, so that is also important to me. This one [UWS sticker], gotta represent where you’re from, Upper West Side. “I have been curating my selection of stickers here for a while, but I think my favorites have to be the originals. Those are my camp sticker, my Hamilton one, my Mount Monadnock stickers, and then this farm I went to. I think they set up the base for the whole display I got here.” - Peter Hinkle ’26

“This is the first one I got. It says ‘Be Kind’ and I got it for free at Sadove. My favorite one is the bike sticker. It says ‘take it easy’ and I got it when I was abroad in Amsterdam and people bike everywhere there. I have a Signature Style one because I am one of the co-editors, which I love. I go to the Cape in the summer, so I have the two beachy stickers.” - Phoebe Leonard ’24

“I have a wide variety of stickers on my laptop. I have a few from my anatomy professor, which I absolutely adore - I love a little dad joke. I have a chemistry dad joke about laughing gas ‘he he he.’ I also have a sticker for Hamilton Harvest, which is something I am really passionate about as well as Community Living. When I decided to go to Hamilton I got some Hamilton stickers and those have been on my laptop since freshman year.” - Leah Basel ’24

“My favorite sticker on my computer as of right now probably has to be it’s Schmidt from New Girl. It’s a picture of him with his hands on his hips and it says ‘youths!’ It’s a line that he says in an episode and it’s really funny to me.” - Mad Bartlett ’25

“My favorite sticker is this one over here that says Japanese 110. I started learning Japanese here at Hamilton and it was a really fun class. I am really happy to be learning a third language and it’s been a journey. It feels like an achievement.” - Renata Mendez Alvarez ’27
