
Professor of English and Creative Writing Doran Larson was invited to serve as respondent on a panel dedicated to Fourth City: Essays from the Prison in America at the Midwest Modern Language Association (M/MLA) Conference held Nov. 13-16 in Detroit. The conference theme was “The Lives of Cities” with a focus on the experiences of urban inhabitants in all phases of urban development.
Larson is the editor of Fourth City, a collection of more than 70 essays written by U.S. prisoners, which tell deeply personal stories of coping, survival, resistance and transformation.
