A Guide to Latin Lyric and Elegy, co-authored by Barbara Gold, the Edward North Chair of Greek and Greek Literature and Professor of Classics Emerita, was recently published by Wiley Blackwell. It is part of the Blackwell Guides to Classical Literature series.

Written with Genevieve Liveley of the University of Bristol, the book is described by the publisher as exploring “the language of Latin poetry while helping readers understand the socio-cultural context of the remarkable period of Roman literary history in which the poetry was composed.”

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
