On Wednesday, Jon Beach and I went to the Late Show with David Letterman. Tuesday, after work a long day at the office, I decided to explore the midtown area. I was heading through Times Square when I passed a ticket office. A young man was standing out front with a clipboard in his hand. He asked me if I would like two free tickets to see David Letterman. At first I was apprehensive, thinking it might just be a scam. After talking to him for a few minutes I realized it was the real thing.
Letterman is on every night at 11:30 but what some people might not know is that he tapes his show at 5:30 p.m. Although it is a taped show they treat it like it was a live broadcast. There are no retakes, and nothing is staged. During our taping Dave messed up some of his lines, and sure enough they did not cut it out. The guests on the show were Ashley Judd and Ben Harper. It was a great experience, and we had a really fun time. Not many people get to see something like this in person, and it did not cost us a thing!
