Cheng Li, the William R. Kenan Professor of Government, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Public Intellectuals Program Advisory Committee of The National Committee on United States-China Relations. The program is sponsored by The Henry Luce Foundation and The Starr Foundation.

The goal of the program is to nurture a new generation of China specialists who have the interest and potential to play significant roles as public intellectuals. The program aims to upgrade the quality of American public debate about China by strengthening links among U.S. academics, policymakers, and opinion leaders.  Through a varied set of activities, the program will help twenty young American China scholars deepen and broaden their knowledge about China's politics, economics, and society, and encourage them to use this knowledge to inform policy and public opinion.

Help us provide an accessible education, offer innovative resources and programs, and foster intellectual exploration.
