Cheng Li, the William R. Kenan Professor of Government, spoke at a luncheon held by the Asia Society in Hong Kong on November 27. The topic, "China's Next Phase: Hu's New Deal?", was Professor Li's view of the new Chinese leadership under Hu Jintao, as discussed in his book China's Leaders: The New Generation. The Asia Society, sponsor of the event, is a national nonprofit educational organization dedicated to fostering understanding between America and the nations of the Asia-Pacific region.
