Lightning claimed another victim this weekend when the Swamp White Oak in Hamilton's West Quad was struck. Fortunately, the lightning did not render the tree unsound like the Tulip tree earlier this summer. Arboretum Director Terry Hawkridge is setting up protection systems for many of the more prominent trees on campus, having installed 10 systems already.
