The Hamilton College Arboretum Association will present “Lilacs – A Purple Haze” with Harvard University’s Jack Alexander as guest speaker on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m., in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium on the Hamilton campus. The event is free, open to the public and sponsored by the College and its Arboretum Association. Everyone interested in gardens and landscapes is encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not required.

Jack Alexander, the plant propagator at Harvard's Arnold Arboretum since 1976, has a great passion for lilacs. He is an active member of the International Lilac Society. The Eastern Region of the International Plant Propagator's Society make him a Fellow in 1995 and further honored him the prestigious Award of Merit in 2004. There will be a pruning demonstration following the talk for all who wish to attend.

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
