
Dan Nye, CEO of the social and professional Internet networking site LinkedIn, will present "Social Networking: The Next Generation" at Hamilton. Nye, a 1988 graduate of Hamilton College, will speak on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Science Center Kennedy Auditorium. After graduating from Hamilton with a degree in political science, Nye joined Procter & Gamble's management-training program and then attended Harvard Business School where he earned an MBA. Nye served as the vice president and general manager of the small business division of Intuit, Inc. and the executive vice president and general manager of investment management at Advent Software before becoming CEO of LinkedIn in February 2007. LinkedIn's Web site has more than 14 million members worldwide. Companies use LinkedIn to recruit job candidates, while individuals can add their resumes and business contacts to the site and make professional connections with colleagues and alumni.
