Assistant Professor of Chemistry Max Majireck presented his postdoctoral research at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Northeastern Regional Meeting (NERM) on Oct. 25.
His talk, titled "Discovery and development of BRD1835: A novel peptide-competitive inhibitor of PRC2" summarized research by Majireck and his co-workers at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard to identify a small molecule probe to target PRC2, a protein complex that is mutated or misregulated in multiple cancer types. To enable him to attend this conference, Majireck was awarded a Young Scientists Travel Award from the CIBA Foundation and the Younger Chemists Committee of the ACS.
