Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies Amy Marvin recently co-curated a night of trans short films in Buffalo featuring a Q&A with filmmaker Nyala Moon.
The program included about 1.5 hours of short films by trans filmmakers including genres such as comedy, sci-fi, horror, drama, animation, suspense, and romance. During the audience Q&A, Nyala Moon discussed her approach to filming comedy, the importance of director collaboration, and her current interest in making an action-comedy film.
The screening was part of the free community series Trans Film / Trans Space, co-organized with Isobel Bess, Andrea Pitts, and Loren Pilcher, and was sponsored by the University at Buffalo’s Departments of Global Gender & Sexuality Studies and Comparative Literature.
